Summary
The sensitivity to Dentosept A (Phytopharm, Klęka) 118 strains of anaerobic bacteria isolated from 21 patients with infections of oral cavity were tested. The susceptibility (MIC) anaerobes were determined by means of plate dilution technique in Brucella agar supplemented with 5% defibrinated sheep blood. Inoculum containing 106 CFU per spot were seed with Steers replicator upon the surface of agar. Incubation was performed for 48 h. at 37°C in anaerobic jar containing 10% C02, 10% H2 and 80% N2, in presence of palladium catalyst and indicator of anaerobiosis. The MIC was interpreted as the lowest concentration Dentosept A inhibiting the growth of anaerobic bacteria. The results of investigations indicated, strains belonging to genera Prevotella (40%) and Porphyromonas (33%) were the most sensitive to Dentosept A (MIC in ranges =0,6-1,2 mg/ml). The strains from genera of Fusobacterium (25%, MIC=0,6-1,2 mg/ml) and Bacteroides (38%, MIC=1,2 mg/ml) were less sensitive to his drug. From among Gram-positive anaerobic bacteria the most sensitive were the strains belonging to genera Eubacterium (100%, MIC=0,6 mg/ml) and Micromonas (50%, MIC =0,6-2,5 mg/ml). The strains of Veillonella spp. Were much les susceptible to Dentosept A. MIC of the strains were in the ranges 5,0-=20,0 mg/ml.
